Way back In 1977, Javier Guittierez decided to bring a new brand of Mexican food to town.
A native of Mexico City, he was raised on a unique style of cuisine that was offered almost nowhere else in his entire country. Continental Mexican food blends the more familiar Mexican approach to cooking with the less customary French and Spanish methods to arrive at a cuisine that will flutter the senses of even the most sophisticated foodies. Shortly after graduating from UTA, Guittierez opted to tempt the odds and open a fine-dining establishment unlike any that Dallas (or the rest of the country) had ever experienced. Success soon followed as the restaurant garnered rave reviews, drew national attention, and inspired diners from around the country to discover this innovative style of cuisine. Now, after some 30 years of delighting eager patrons, Guittierez has stayed true to his roots. And as anyone who has ever passed through the doors of his upscale treasure will be sure to attest, this is one culinary adventure you won’t want to miss.
For 25 years, this almost-hidden eatery has been keeping Dallas’ movers and shakers sated with upscale Mexican cuisine. -Kim Harwell, The Dallas Morning News
